What is a
DEPENDENT VARIABLE?
In a research study, a dependent variable is the event studied and expected to change when the independent variable is changed.
In other words, changes in this variable are caused by changing one or more variables in an experiment.
What is an
INDEPENDENT VARIABLE?
In a research study, the independent variable is intentionally changed to observe its effect on the dependent variable.
